    Quality Control & Test Drive Officer

    The Quality Control & Test Drive Officer is responsible for verifying the technical quality of every vehicle repaired or serviced within the workshop before it is released to the customer. The role combines final quality inspection with structured road testing, ensuring that the reported complaint has been rectified, that no secondary defect has been introduced during the repair, and that the vehicle is delivered in a condition consistent with the standards.

    TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Carry out an initial road test, where required, to confirm and reproduce the customer complaint recorded on the job card.
    • Communicate initial findings to the Service Advisor and Job Controller to support accurate diagnosis and estimation •Inspect every completed job against the job card, the repair order and the applicable manufacturer repair standard before release
    • Perform the post-repair road test on the approved test route
    • Confirm that the original complaint has been fully rectified and that no new defect has been introduced during the repair.
    • Reject and return to the workshop any vehicle that does not meet the required standard, stating the defect and the corrective action needed.
    • Re-inspect and road test the vehicle after rework, and release it only once the standard is met.
    • Escalate recurring or unresolved technical defects to the Workshop Manager.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Knowledge of automotive systems and repairs.
    • 1-2 Years of proven experience as an automotive Technician, preferably in the automotive industry or service center.
    • Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment.
    • ND, HND or bachelor's degree in a relevant field and technical training in automotive service is a plus.
