Quality Control Officer at Ascentech Services Limited

Job Summary 

• is seeking a detail-oriented and highly analytical Quality Control Officer to join its production team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all raw materials, intermediate products, and finished plastic goods meet the company’s rigorous quality standards and industry specifications.

Key Responsibilities

• Inspection & Testing: Conduct routine inspections and physical/mechanical tests on raw plastic materials, pre-forms, and finished products (bottles, containers, pipes, etc.) to ensure compliance with quality standards.
• Production Monitoring: Monitor the production line continuously to identify defects, inconsistencies, or deviations from standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Equipment Calibration: Ensure all quality testing equipment and measuring tools are properly calibrated and maintained.
• Defect Analysis: Investigate root causes of product defects (e.g., warping, discoloration, thickness variations, or weak tensile strength) and recommend corrective actions to the production team.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate and detailed records of all quality tests, inspection results, and non-conformance reports.
• Compliance: Ensure all products meet local and international regulatory standards for plastic manufacturing and safety.
• Collaboration: Work closely with production supervisors and machine operators to implement quality improvement initiatives and reduce waste.

Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree, HND, or OND in Industrial Chemistry, Polymer Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of proven experience as a Quality Control Officer specifically within a plastic manufacturing company.
• Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of plastic processing techniques (e.g., injection molding, blow molding, extrusion) and polymer properties.
• Analytical Skills: Ability to interpret technical data, use measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, gauges), and perform basic quality tests.
• Attention to Detail: Exceptional observational skills with a zero-tolerance approach to defects.
• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to report findings clearly to management and production staff.

Working Conditions:

• Location: Based in Lagos, Nigeria. Must be willing to work in a factory/production environment.
• Schedule: Full-time, may require shift work or occasional weekend shifts depending on production demands.
