The Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for all the QA matters within the company.
His/her main role is to ensure that all quality and safety standards are met by measuring the quality at all times and ensuring the work environment (warehouse and lab) is maintaining group quality standards.
He/she is jointly responsible with the warehouse and sourcing manager that the beans entering the warehouse and exported are following our internal and external quality specifications.
The QA Manager has to follow the quality along the chain and is responsible for the quality lab.
He/she needs to make sure the cocoa complies with all the relevant quality standards, regulations, licenses and certification.
Key Responsibilities
Ensures the quality of cocoa arriving on site is measured and only enters the warehouse if the quality specifications are met. He/she needs to give approval for cocoa to enter into the warehouse
Responsible for analysis of cocoa/raw beans sample by overseeing all internal processes and procedures to ensure quality: updates and shares reporting file with relevant parties, monitoring all records from the start till completion and ensuring strict compliance to company standard.
Supervise and coordinate all work force in the Quality assurance department engaged in inspections and testing activities to ensure productivity and technical integrity
Ensure compliance with Health and Safety regulations, .and providing accurate documentation to regulatory inspectors. Also ensures the full implementation of the QMS procedures related to QA and communicates proposed changes to the Management Representative. This includes the documentation and approval of procedures and work instructions, process forms etc as appropriate.
Oversee the use and overall maintenance of the Q/A equipment, ensuring that these are secure and efficiently utilized. Ensures that all critical to quality equipment, instruments and tools are maintained in good working condition, calibrated and verified.
Ensure sample results are transmitted to the appropriate quarter without delay as well as proper arrangement and safe keeping of reference samples.
Ensures the health and safety of the staff is maintained at all times and all the equipment to do so is present on site.
Manages the phytosanitairy treatments of the beans.
Essential Experience / Knowledge
Bachelor's Degree in Food Science, Bio Chemistry, Industrial Chemistry or Microbiology or equivalent qualification
Managerial skills and strong coaching and training skills
A minimum of 5 years post qualification hands-on relevant working experience, 2 years of which must have been in a management position.
Experience in an international/ multi-cultural environment.
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Knowledge of relevant regulatory requirement.
Certifications an advantage including Quality Auditor, Quality Improvement Associate, Six Sigma
Quality inspection, auditing and testing experience
Experience with implementation of corrective action programs
Product or industry-specific experience
Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office, QA applications and databases
Knowledge of tools, concepts and methodologies of QA
