Quality Assurance Lead at MFS Africa

The Role

• We are looking for an innovative and experienced Quality Assurance Lead to join our team. This position will play a primary role in planning, implementing, leading and executing all aspects of Quality and Testing.
• The role requires hands-on QA expertise, ability to take initiative and develop and evolve our QA processes. The right candidate will be able to analyze the systems to determine what to test, the priority of those tests and the best way to test.
• To be successful as a QA Lead at MFS Africa, you should demonstrate strong attention to detail and have analytical and problem-solving abilities. The ideal candidate must be able to interpret and implement quality assurance standards and provide accurate and comprehensive feedback to colleagues.

The position is based in Kenya or Nigeria. 

Key Responsibilities 

• Establish and evolve formal QA processes, ensuring that the team is using industry-accepted best practices
• Oversee all aspects of quality assurance including establishing metrics, applying industry best practices, and developing new tools and processes to ensure quality goals are met
• Act as key point of contact for all QA aspects of releases, providing QA services and coordinating QA resources internally and externally
• Lead and mentor QA team members, as well as manage outside contract testers
• Develop and execute test cases, scripts, plans and procedures (manual and automated)
• Diagnose defects and track them from discovery to resolution
• Partner with engineering teams to stay informed of new technologies being introduced and to ensure that system components are designed for testability
• Respond to all requests from team members in a timely professional manner
• Ensure that user expectations are met during the testing process
• Contribute to the drafting of quality assurance policies and procedures
• Assist in the investigation of user and product issues
• Develop and maintain strong working relationships with project stakeholders.
• Participate in the agile development team and provide knowledge on test estimation models and best practices
• Participate in test environment readiness and verification.

Qualifications and experience 

• A bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems or a related field.
• Experience in leading/ managing teams for minimum 4 years.
• Overall, 8 years of Testing experience.
• Experience coordinating with external QA resources.
• Experience in quality inspection, auditing, and testing.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Strong computer skills and knowledge of QA databases and applications.
• Strong Automation experience on Web and API Applications.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Meticulous attention to detail.
• Can work autonomously in a highly demanding and often ambiguous environment.
