Project Manager-Orphans Sponsorship Program at Matrix Energy Group

Job Purpose:

The Project Manager – Orphans Sponsorship Program will lead the planning, implementation, and coordination of the Abdulkabir Aliu Foundation’s orphan sponsorship initiatives in Nigeria and abroad. The role is responsible for ensuring that orphaned and vulnerable children supported by AAF receive holistic assistance—particularly in education, healthcare, feeding, clothing, child protection and basic welfare—while ensuring accountability, transparency, and measurable impact in line with the Foundation’s mission of supporting the less privileged.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES 

• Design and manage the implementation of Orphans Sponsorship Program activities in line with AAF Mission and Vision.
• Develop annual work plans, budgets, and activity schedules for the program.
• Maintain accurate records of all sponsored orphans and ensure compliance with donor requirements.
• Coordinate with institutions and relevant government agencies.
• Ensure compliance of laws and regulations relating to children rights as prescribed in the constitution. Monitoring & Evaluation
• Develop and apply tools to monitor performance of orphanage homes and program impact.
• Regularly collect, analyse, and report data on orphanage homes sponsored by AAF.
• Conduct field visits of orphanage homes and beneficiary feedback sessions.
• Prepare quarterly and annual reports for the donor and management. Financial Oversight
• Work with the finance team to manage the budget for Orphans Sponsorship Program.
• Supervise the utilization reports shared by orphanages along with AAF Finance.
• Ensure transparent and accountable use of all funds.
• Prepare financial forecasts and spending reports for the program.
• Track expenditures and ensure compliance with AAF financial policies and requirements. Stakeholder Engagement
• Build and maintain strong relationships with orphanage homes, communities, state government and and local authorities.

• Respond to inquiries and grievances from applicants and beneficiaries. Digital & Media Communication
• Managing or contributing to social media updates, newsletters, and website content related to the program.
• Graphical representation of the projects on website and social media channels of AAF.

QUALIFICATION AND SKILL REQUIREMENT

• Bachelor’s degree (BA, BSc, or BEd) with at least a Second-Class Upper Division. A Master’s degree MBA/MSC will be an added advantage.
• Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience managing humanitarian programs at national level.Experience in managing international and indigenous Orphans
• Sponsorship programs will be an added advantage.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and accountability.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet tight deadlines.
• Good communication and reporting skills, both verbal and written.
• Willingness and ability to travel frequently across Nigeria.
