    Project Coordinator

    • As the Project Coordinator, you will serve as a key link between Slum2School, the community, and stakeholders, fostering relationships that enhance project delivery and sustainability. Your responsibilities will include managing resources, coordinating activities, and addressing challenges to achieve project goals. Working collaboratively with teams and partners, you will ensure that each project aligns with Slum2School’s mission of transforming education in underserved communities.

    KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY

    • Support the Project Manager in planning and executing the project’s work plan, timelines, and deliverables.
    • Coordinate daily operations, ensuring seamless implementation of project activities.
    • Identify opportunities that align with the project’s goals and develop detailed project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
    • Act as a primary contact for community leaders, partners, and other stakeholders, fostering collaborative relationships.
    • Implement systems to monitor project progress and evaluate outcomes against predefined goals, making necessary adjustments to ensure success.
    • Allocate and manage resources effectively, including personnel, budgets, and materials, to support project activities.
    • Build and maintain meaningful connections with partners, community leaders, and other stakeholders.
    • Lead door-to-door outreach efforts, educating households on the risks of child domestic work and the importance of education.
    • Spearhead advocacy campaigns to influence policies supporting the education and rights of Child Domestic Workers (CDWs).
    • Ensure child rights principles are integrated into the program, monitoring and supporting CDWs’ welfare and protection.
    • Develop data collection systems to track progress and monitor referral pathways to protection services for CDWs.
    • Train and equip volunteer facilitators to advocate for CDWs and lead community engagement efforts.
    • Provide mentorship and psychosocial support to CDWs, addressing their mental health and emotional wellbeing.
    • Coordinate vocational training programs for CDWs, providing follow-up support to ensure successful implementation of acquired skills.
    • Manage communications, including reporting, and press releases, to amplify project success and advocacy updates.
    • Implement and monitor reporting mechanisms for CDWs, ensuring proper documentation and reporting of abuse or maltreatment.
    • Identify risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure smooth project execution.
    • Ensure adherence to compliance and safety standards throughout the project lifecycle.
    • Develop and implement innovative strategies to maximize project visibility and engagement.
    • Enhance the visibility and success of events through strategic planning and stakeholder engagement.

    QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

    • Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Social Sciences, International Development, or a related field.
    • Master’s degree in a relevant field is an added advantage.
    • At least 3-5 years of project coordination experience, preferably within the development sector.
    • Demonstrated experience in stakeholder engagement, campaign management, and community-based projects.

    SKILL AND COMPETENCE

    • Interest and/or previous experience in the NGO or development sector.
    • Strong relationship, business, and project management skills.
    • Creative thinker with the ability to generate innovative campaign ideas that resonate with diverse audiences.
    • Exceptional strategic planning abilities, attention to detail, and delivery.
    • Proficiency in project management software and tools.
    • Exceptional professionalism and interpersonal skills and an ability to work collegially with team members and stakeholders.
    • Passion for education, community development, and making a positive impact.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handle multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines.
    • Ability to represent the organization and its objectives in a highly professional and responsible manner.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; highly organized with concern for detail and a commitment to rigor.
    • Competence in project planning, monitoring, and evaluation to ensure program effectiveness and impact.
    • Strong time management skills and the ability to manage teams, departments, and projects simultaneously.
    • Professionalism, empathy, and the ability to work as part of a team, maintain a sense of humor, and interact with a diverse array of people from all walks of life.
