    Program Officer

    Crown Health & Empowerment Initiative (CHEI) is a sub-grantee to Catholic Caritas Foundation of Nigeria (Caritas Nigeria), under The Global Action Towards Epidemic control in Sub-national units in Nigeria (4GATES). 4GATES program is a HIV/AIDS care, treatment and support program implemented across Faith-based and Government owned health facilities in Delta, Abia, Enugu and Imo States. It is a 5-year program (October, 2017 to September, 2022) implemented by Caritas Nigeria and its consortium partners. CHEI is a Not-for-Profit Community Based Organisation that provides community sensitive programs that targets Key Populations.

    Job Role:

    • The Program Manager will provide oversight to program implementation. This includes but not limited to strategic, programmatic, technical, financial and grants management of the sub-grant. S/he will be responsible for oversight of work plan implementation, ensuring compliance with Caritas Nigeria and global standards, developing monitoring and evaluation processes and overall program management. 
    • Supervise effective, efficient and timely implementation of project activities in accordance with agreed standards and procedures.
    • Lead the team in regular planning of program and project activities based on global standards.
    • Prepare, implement and report regularly on the status of project work plans including accurate project indicator tracking.
    • Undertake very regular field visits to monitor implementation and ensure standards are upheld.
    • Financial and budgetary monitoring in collaboration with the Finance Officer.
    • Monitor and report new trends in areas of project implementation, drawing on feedback from KP community members, gatekeepers, staff and working groups.  Maintain excellent relations with key population community members, gatekeepers, staff, community leaders and security structures in the community.  Support management in providing management and technical oversight of program, ensuring that program activities are effectively and efficiently implemented.
    • Oversee work plan monitoring systems development and implementation.
    • Provide timely and accurate programmatic reports and other contractual deliverables as required.
    • Communicate with Caritas Nigeria, Stakeholders, Government and non-government partners about the project. 
    • Supervise and manage the program team to ensure conformity to the project goals and deliverables.  Ensure that project activities are executed successfully, completed within time frames and project scope to meet program objectives.
    • Ensure timely writing of program reports. 
    • Assume other duties as assigned by the Executive Director, KP team supervisor and Caritas Nigeria.
