    Program Manager

    Reports to: Executive Director

    Position Summary

    The Program Manager at Peace Ambassadors Center for Humanitarian Aid and Empowerment (PACHE) will oversee the planning, implementation, and evaluation of humanitarian programs. The role involves coordinating resources, managing program teams, ensuring compliance with donor requirements, and delivering impactful and sustainable solutions to vulnerable communities.

    Key Responsibilities

    Program Planning and Design

    • Lead the design and development of humanitarian programs in alignment with PACHE’s mission and strategic objectives.
    • Develop program work plans, budgets, and timelines in collaboration with relevant stakeholders.

    Program Implementation

    • Ensure timely and efficient implementation of programs, meeting objectives and donor requirements.
    • Coordinate with field teams to monitor program activities and resolve operational challenges.
    • Oversee resource allocation to maximize efficiency and impact.

    Monitoring, Evaluation, and Reporting

    • Collaborate with the M&E team to track program progress, measure impact, and incorporate feedback.
    • Prepare and submit high-quality program reports to donors, stakeholders, and PACHE leadership.
    • Document lessons learned and best practices to improve future programming.

    Stakeholder Engagement

    • Build and maintain relationships with donors, government agencies, NGOs, and community leaders.
    • Represent PACHE in coordination meetings, working groups, and stakeholder forums.

    Team Leadership and Capacity Building

    • Supervise, mentor, and support program staff, fostering a culture of collaboration and accountability.
    • Organize capacity-building initiatives to enhance the skills and effectiveness of the program team.

    Compliance and Risk Management

    • Ensure adherence to donor regulations, organizational policies, and humanitarian principles.
    • Identify and mitigate risks associated with program implementation.

    Strategic Input and Innovation

    • Contribute to the development of PACHE’s overall strategy and priorities.
    • Identify opportunities for innovation and expansion of humanitarian programming.

    Requirements

    Education and Experience

    • Bachelor’s degree in Development Studies, Social Sciences, Humanitarian Management, or related fields (Master’s preferred).
    • At least 5 years of experience in program management within a humanitarian or development context.
    • Proven track record of managing donor-funded projects (e.g., UN agencies, USAID, DFID, EU).

    Skills and Competencies

    • Strong knowledge of program cycle management, including planning, implementation, and evaluation.
    • Excellent budgeting, financial management, and resource allocation skills.
    • Proficiency in project management tools and software (e.g., MS Project, Trello, or similar).
    • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure in challenging environments.

    Languages

    • Fluency in English is required. Proficiency in Hausa or other local languages is an advantage.

    Other Requirements

    • Strong commitment to PACHE’s mission and humanitarian values.
    • Willingness to travel to field locations, including remote or conflict-affected areas.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Certification in Project Management (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2).
    • Experience in coordinating multi-sectoral programs in emergency settings.
    • Knowledge of local and regional humanitarian dynamics and challenges.
