Job Description

Applicants must possess proven certification in Creative Writing, Film Production, Screen Writing, Journalism, or related field. Applicants must possess a minimum of three (3) years’ relevant experience in similar role.

Key Responsibilities

• Applicants must be able to revise, edit and develop ideas for new scripts
• Applicants must be able to research topics related to a script
• Generate creative ideas for scripts, including developing concepts, themes, and storylines with will resonate with target audience.
• Conduct research to gather information and insights relevant to the script, ensuring accuracy and authenticity in the portrayal of characters, settings, and themes.
• Collaborate with directors, producers, and other creative professionals to refine the script, incorporating feedback and ensuring alignment with the overall vision of the project.
• Present script ideas and outlines to producers, executives, or studios, effectively communicating the unique selling points and market appeal of the project.
• Revise and rewrite scripts based on feedback from collaborators, producers, or test audiences, continuously improving the script throughout the production process.
• Work within tight deadlines, managing time efficiently to deliver high-quality scripts on schedule.
• Stay informed about industry trends, market demands, and audience preferences, adapting writing style to meet the evolving needs of the entertainment landscape.
• Perform other tasks as directed by the Head of Unit.

Applicants with first degrees MUST have completed the mandatory one-year National Youth Service. He or she must be God-fearing and have good communication skills. Those applying for the technologist position are required to possess appropriate skills and orientation for their respective disciplines, as well as possess teaching abilities with adequate research experience.
