Job description

• The driver is responsible for transporting directors, staff/clients from the office, warehouse location, etc. to businesses, residential properties, or individuals.
• Your duties include loading parcels into their vehicle, using a navigation system to map their route, and delivering parcels to the correct addresses in a timely manner.

Responsibilities

• Transport clients and/or packages to and from destinations
• Safely transporting company staff as well as various products and materials to and from specified locations in a timely manner.
• Arrive at destinations on schedule
• Fulfill administrative needs, like office pickups & drop-offs
• Promptly informing the company of any tickets issued against the company vehicle during work hours.
• Ensuring that the company vehicle is always parked in areas that permit parking in order to avoid towing.
• Research and plan for traffic, construction, and weather delays
• Use navigation applications to determine the best route
• Interact with clients/staff professionally at all times
• Keeping the company vehicle clean and properly maintained by performing regular washing, cleaning, and vehicle maintenance.
• Providing accurate time records of the company vehicle’s activities
• Reporting any accidents, injuries, and vehicle damage to management.
• Ensure that the vehicle is always fueled and ready for use.
• Ensuring that periodic scheduled vehicle maintenance is completed and reported.
• Keep mileage records and repair records up-to-date.
• Always maintain a valid driver’s license
• Excellent navigation skills and proficiency in using navigation applications to find delivery/pickup locations
• Time management and organizational skills to keep track of deliveries/pickups and stay on schedule.
• Maintain good communication and interpersonal skills to interact with clients.
• Physical stamina and good upper body strength to lift heavy luggage, packages, and objects, as well as be able to load and unload them from their vehicle.

Requirements

• High school diploma 
• Valid driver’s license.
• Clean driving record.
• Sound knowledge of road safety regulations.
• Working knowledge of local roads and routes.
• The ability to utilize maps, GPS systems, and car manuals.
• Effective communication skills.
• Punctual and reliable.
• Ability to lift heavy packages and luggage
• A polite and professional disposition
• Ability to remain calm in stressful driving situations (e.g. at rush hour)
