This HLP role is designed to provide hands-on field and office-based exposure to well optimization, production surveillance, and operational support, with the goal of developing the successful candidate into a rounded production technologist. In this role within the Production Engineering team, the candidate will be introduced to the fundamentals of Production Engineering in the Oil and Gas industry.
Key Accountabilities
Assist in monitoring and analysing production performance of wells, flowlines, and facilities across OML-30 mature onshore fields.
Support production optimization activities, including artificial lift design (e.g., gas lift), well interventions, and stimulation campaigns.
Participate in field operations, well testing, and troubleshooting of production upsets and equipment failures.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (reservoir, drilling, surface operations, HSE) to enhance production efficiency and minimize downtime.
Use petroleum engineering software (e.g., Prosper, GAP, WellFlo, OFM, WellView) to model and diagnose well and system behaviours.
Collect, validate, and interpret field production data for performance reporting and decision-making.
Contribute to workover and recompletion planning and assist in cost estimation and technical justification.
Ensure all work complies with NUPRC regulations, company policies, and HSE standards.

Qualification
B.Eng. in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field from an accredited university.
Registered or eligible for registration with COREN or NSE as an Engineer-in-Training (E.I.T).
3 - 5 years of relevant work experience (internship or NYSC in the Oil & Gas sector is advantageous).
Strong analytical and communication skills, with attention to detail and safety-conscious mindset.
Proficiency in Microsoft Suite of Software and technical software. Exposure to oilfield databases or SCADA systems is a plus.
Willingness to travel to remote field locations within the Niger Delta for hands-on well-related activities.
