    Product Designer

    About The Role

    • We’re hiring a Mid-Level Product Designer who can take product problems from fuzzy to shipped. You’ll own end-to-end design for key flows (onboarding, money movement, verification/KYC, rewards & retention, and more), partner closely with Product, Engineering, Operations, and Compliance, and measure impact with clear metrics.

    Job Expectations

    • Lead product design from discovery to delivery: research, problem framing, flows, wireframes, prototypes, visual/UI polish, and developer handoff.
    • Design simple, trustworthy experiences for complex financial tasks (KYC, transfers, swaps, limits, fees, risk prompts).
    • Run lightweight research (surveys, interviews, usability tests) and synthesize insights into actionable decisions.
    • Collaborate in weekly rituals (standups, crits, planning), breaking work into iterative, testable releases.
    • Use data (Mixpanel/Amplitude, dashboards, experiments) to define success and iterate post-launch.
    • Contribute to—and help maintain—our design system across mobile and web.
    • Advocate for accessibility, performance on low-end devices, and reliability in low-bandwidth contexts.
    • Write clear UX copy and error states that build trust and reduce support load.

    Critical Competencies

    • 3+ years of product design experience shipping consumer-facing products (fintech experience is a plus).
    • A portfolio showing end-to-end problem solving: insights → decisions → shipped UI → measured outcomes.
    • Strong interaction design and visual craft; you sweat details but know when to ship.
    • Comfort with discovery and ambiguity; you can simplify complex flows.
    • Fluency in Figma (components, variants, auto-layout, prototyping).
    • Ability to run lean research and usability tests with real users.
    • Data-aware: you can define metrics, read dashboards, and use insights to iterate.
    • Excellent communication and collaboration skills across Product, Engineering, and Compliance.
    • Ownership mindset and bias to action in a fast-moving environment.

    Nice-to-haves

    • Experience designing for emerging markets or regulated spaces (KYC/AML).
    • Motion design or micro-interactions that improve understanding and trust.
    • Content design/UX writing chops for financial clarity.Contribution to design systems at scale.
    • Familiarity with accessibility (WCAG), localization, and right-to-left considerations.
    • Tooling beyond Figma (e.g., Useberry/Maze, Amplitude/Mixpanel, Notion, Linear/Jira).

    How we work

    • We ship in small, iterative slices and learn fast.Designers sit with Product & Eng from day one; no “throw over the wall.”We measure impact: adoption, completion, errors, support tickets, and retention.

    Success Looks Like (30/90/180)

    • 30 days: You’ve shipped improvements to an existing flow and added components to the design system.
    • 90 days: You’ve owned a project end-to-end (e.g., onboarding or transfer flow), with measurable uplift.
    • 180 days: You’ve led a multi-team initiative (e.g., KYC or Rewards iteration) and established a repeatable design-to-dev process.
    • Tools we use
    • Figma, FigJam, Notion, Linear/Jira, Amplitude/Mixpanel (or similar), and common user-testing tools.

    Cultural Competencies

    • Entrepreneurial and experimental — thrives in a startup environment.
    • Bias for action and growth, not afraid to fail fast and learn quickly.
    • Mission-driven and passionate about expanding financial access in Africa.
    • You work well with people of different backgrounds, identities, values and cultures
    • You listen well, seek to understand and respond with empathy
    • You give and take constructive feedback to and from colleagues at any level
    • You are extremely curious and love working collaboratively
    • A knack for continuous growth, learning and knowledge sharing
