Job brief

• Our client is urgently looking for a Procurement Officer who will be responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and ensuring the timely delivery of high-quality pharmaceutical products, raw materials, equipment, and services required by the company.
• The role requires strong negotiation skills, knowledge of pharmaceutical regulations, and the ability to maintain relationships with reliable vendors while ensuring cost-effectiveness and compliance with industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement procurement strategies in line with the company’s pharmaceutical needs.
• Source, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to ensure the best quality, price, and timely delivery of goods.
• Ensure all purchased pharmaceutical products, raw materials, and equipment meet regulatory and quality standards.
• Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, supplier agreements, and inventory.
• Monitor stock levels and coordinate with the store/warehouse team to avoid shortages or overstocking.
• Establish and maintain relationships with reliable vendors and suppliers.
• Ensure compliance with procurement policies, ethical standards, and relevant pharmaceutical regulations.
• Prepare and present procurement reports to management.
• Work closely with quality assurance, finance, and operations teams to ensure smooth procurement processes.
• Stay updated on industry trends, new suppliers, and regulatory requirements in the pharmaceutical sector.

Requirements

• B.Sc in Pharmacy, Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 3-4 years’ experience in procurement, preferably in the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry.
• Knowledge of pharmaceutical products, medical supplies, and regulatory standards (e.g., NAFDAC, WHO).
• Strong negotiation, vendor management, and contract management skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office and procurement/supply chain software.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• High level of integrity, attention to detail, and ability to work under pressure.
