Procurement Officer at GZ Industries

• To ensure prompt sourcing and procurement of items to effectively meet business objectives.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Liaises with user departments and suppliers to ensure that items procured meet specifications
• Handles the preparation and processing of purchase orders in line with procurement policies and procedures
• Conducts market research to gather information on Current prices Of products/materials, and advises on pricing and buying strategies
• Negotiates the best deals for pricing and supply contracts, and ensures that the products and supplies are of high quality, fit for purpose, safe, and align with food safety and global sustainability requirements
• Prepares and evaluates quotes from vendors in relation to market survey, for price comparison, and compliance with specifications and requirements
• Ensures all PR to POs are processed and completed within fourteen days, except for project or capital expenditures.
• Monitors/tracks, documents, and reports vendors' non-compliance with PO terms of agreement.
• Maintains relationships with suppliers to ensure prompt and efficient services
• Handles and monitors claims to vendors for defectives, shortages, and missing parts.
• Develops plans for purchasing equipment, services, and supplies
• Identifies, mitigates and escalates procurement risks to enable the organisation to meet its obligations and maximise business opportunities
• Maintains accurate records of purchases, pricing, and other important data
• Ensures that all Purchase Orders are complete and accurate, and expedites overdue purchase orders

Required Education/ Qualification

• Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree or HND in Business Administration, Accounting, or related field
• Minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar role within the manufacturing industry
• Experience dealing with third-party vendors on commercial activities
