Review, update and implement the procurement policy for the company.
Assess the strategic and financial impact of the company’s procurement activities to ensure procurement practices are directed towards achieving cost efficiency.
Responsible for ensuring quality of materials, equipment, etc. procured and ensure specifications and quality standards are met.
Coordinate the company’s supply chain processes (local and International) to ensure consistent product availability and optimal stock levels.
Oversee the procurement process as well as the contracting and tendering process for all categories of goods/services.
Manage price negotiations to ensure the company gets best value for goods and services while managing its overall cost exposure.
Identify key strategic suppliers/ vendors and develop and maintain lasting relationships/ strategic alliances to facilitate product sourcing and procurement.
Develop and oversee proper management of relationships with third-party service providers within the supply chain such as transporters, customs/ clearing agents, etc., and ensure compliance with agreed service levels.
Facilitate the establishment of effective vendor selection criteria, oversee vendor performance evaluation and compliance to service level agreements, and enforce sanctions on erring suppliers.
Monitor and coordinate delivery of goods from suppliers (local and overseas) to ensure timely delivery of goods to appropriate locations.
Supervise and monitor the logistics and shipping process including investigating delays, reviewing documentation etc.
Ensure adherence to legal and financial requirements during product/ equipment/ materials shipping and importation processes.
Continually review and assess the effectiveness and efficiency of procurement’s policies, processes and procedures and identify improvement opportunities.
Liaise with the Stores (Airline and Food) to ensure regular update on activities and requirements.
Generate weekly, monthly, and annual procurement reports.
Ensure continuous delivery and supply of goods and services that meet service level agreements.
Strict adherence with procurement cycle time.
Overall responsibility for managing all LPOs.
And any other job that might be assigned by MD or management due to exigencies of duty
Proven working experience as Purchasing Manager, Agent or Officer
Familiarity with sourcing and vendor management
Interest in market dynamics along with business sense
A knack for negotiation and networking
Working experience of vendor management software
Ability to gather and analyse data and to work with figures
Solid judgement along with decision making skills
Strong leadership capabilities
BS degree in supply chain management, logistics or business administration
