    Procurement Manager

    Responsibilities

    • Plan and execute all Contract and Procurement tasks by the organization's Contract and Procurement Policies and Procedures.
    • Compile a list of all project expenses, including materials, labour, and other resources.
    • Assess the cost-effectiveness of projects or services by comparing actual costs against bids as the project progresses.
    • Monitor the progress of projects and advise budget adjustments.
    • Create estimates that management can use to plan, organize, and schedule work.
    • Create estimates that will be used to select vendors and subcontractors.
    • Analyze money costs and other variables to determine the cost of future initiatives or items.
    • Ensure that project budgets are adhered to and provide an explanation for any deviations.
    • Conduct a quarterly market survey for all relevant factors.
    • Keep track of and utilize each project's budget and job efficiency.
    • Scope of work and price contracts with subcontractors and suppliers are negotiated.
    • Create and implement innovative purchasing strategies to continue reducing costs and simplifying processes.
    • Stakeholder Management
    • When required, meet with subcontractors and suppliers on-site.
    • Maintain contact with your vendors and subcontractors.
    • Establish new relationships with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure that all projects have sufficient resources and to maintain price and quality improvements.
    • Ensure that the company is aware of and follows all applicable building and local construction regulations.
    • To maintainhigh-quality standards and expectations, including drawings, quality specs, and requirements in purchase orders
    • Manage change order requests and anticipates the future need

    • Monitor the organization's subcontractors and suppliers.

    • To minimize costly delays and missed sales opportunities due to a lack of supplies, ensure that all aspects of the procurement and material management procedures function properly.
    • Discuss reducing costs.
    • Identify primary and alternate sources for each required item and urge suppliers to remain competitive to obtain the cheapest price (quality, lead time, parts and service)
    • Collaborate with the quality manager to identify and monitor reliable suppliers.
    • Establish and adhere to protocols to ensure that all corporate purchases are correctly recorded, saved, and tracked.
    • Monitor prices of essential commodities, assess consequences based on annual usage and report budget-related results to management.
    • Monitors significant trends, supplier changes, and pricing fluctuations to capitalize on opportunities and/or defend company positions.
    • Contacts carriers to negotiate contracts and costs, troubleshoot issues, and arrange challenging shipments.
    • Negotiates conditions to get resources and goods as fast and inexpensively as possible
    • Requests offers, discounts, markdowns, storage choices, and favourable payment terms from suppliers.
    • Perform any other tasks assigned by the Head, Contract and Procurement.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or Business Management.
    • Five (5) to seven (7) years of experience as a Contract and Procurement Manager, with extensive knowledge of sourcing, contract negotiation, monitoring, and reporting contract performance in a construction context.
    • An extensive background in construction is required.
    • Superior knowledge and experience in purchasing and contracting.
    • The ability to locate and purchase items, as well as to "read" the market.
    • Capable of interacting with others and striking deals
    • Excellent knowledge of software for managing vendors or third parties
    • Decision-making and mathematical proficiency
    • Gathering and analyzing data is a talent
    • Excellent communication skills
    • Effective leadership abilities
