    Procurement and Logistics Officer

    Organization Background

    • YOPCODI is a Nigerian Non-Governmental Organization (NNGO) that envision a society where communities have equitable access to social and economic services.
    • YOPCODI works for the sustenance of peace and development in volatile and resettled communities affected by insurgency, with focus on responding to the immediate, short and long-term needs of affected children and women in Northeast Nigeria.

    Position Summary

    • The Procurement and Logistic Officer supports the organisation to identify and evaluate suppliers, arranges for transportation of purchased goods, identifies and develops strategies for addressing logistical barriers, maintain and review all relevant procurement records in a meticulous way.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Perform market research
    • Timely and duly prepare procurement plans for the office and projects and monitoring of their implementation
    • Prepare tender documents such as RFQ, RFP and other instruments related to market research or market survey such as RFI and EOI
    • Ensure full compliance to the Financial Regulations and Rules of YOPCODI and its Procurement Manual
    • Prepare weekly requisition status reports providing the most updated information about the status of each requisition
    • Evaluate offers both quantitatively and qualitatively and cooperate effectively with suppliers
    • Identify, register and follow project procurement risks and escalate them when necessary
    • Raises logistics bottlenecks to supervisor for prioritization of tasks
    • Collaborate with key persons to ensure clarity of the specification and expectation of the organisation
    • Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness
    • Finalize purchase details of orders and deliveries
    • Examine and test existing contracts
    • Ensures the organisation works with competent suppliers
    • Identifying and addressing barrier that affects operational efficiency in the procurement process
    • And any other tasks assigned by the line manager

    Key Skills and Experience Required

    • Minimum of B.Sc or HND in Business Management, Supply Chain management, Logistics and supply or any other relevant field.
    • Minimum of 2 years proven work experience in similar role with an NGO
    • Knowledge of sourcing and procurement techniques as well as a dexterity in reading the market
    • Talent and skills in negotiation and networking
    • Good knowledge of supplier or third party management software
    • Experience in collecting and analysing data relating to dynamic market situations
    • Strong leadership capabilities
    • Communication skills; active listener, able to understand information and requirements in simple terms
    • Ability to work efficiently and harmoniously within diverse team.
