    Principal

    Job Summary

    • We are seeking an exceptional, innovative, and visionary educational leader to serve as our School Principal.
    • The successful candidate will have a proven track record of outstanding school leadership, academic excellence, staff development, and strategic growth.
    • The Principal will provide strategic and operational leadership for the College and will be accountable for the effective management of all aspects of school life, ensuring the achievement of the school's vision, mission, and educational objectives.

    Key Responsibilities
    The Principal shall be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

    • Providing strategic leadership and direction for the overall development of the school.
    • Setting clear academic goals and implementing strategies that enable students to achieve outstanding outcomes.
    • Driving excellence in internal and external examinations.
    • Collaborating with the Board of Governors on educational policies, strategic planning, and school improvement initiatives.
    • Leading the implementation of innovative 21st-century teaching, learning, and assessment practices.
    • Overseeing the effective integration and delivery of both the Nigerian and British curricula.
    • Promoting entrepreneurship, creativity, critical thinking, and leadership skills among students.
    • Developing and implementing strategies to enhance the school's reputation, visibility, and enrolment locally and internationally.
    • Providing leadership for co-curricular programmes, including sports, clubs, and community engagement activities.
    • Monitoring and evaluating student performance and educational programmes to ensure continuous improvement.
    • Leading staff recruitment, development, performance management, and succession planning.
    • Developing partnerships and fundraising initiatives that support school growth and community development projects.
    • Ensuring a safe, inclusive, and child-friendly learning environment that promotes student welfare and safeguarding.

    Requirements
    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's Degree in Education or a relevant discipline with a Postgraduate Diploma in Education (PGDE).
    • A Master's Degree in Education, Educational Leadership, School Administration, or a related field will be an added advantage.
    • Doctoral qualifications will be an added advantage.

    Experience Requirements:
    Minimum of 10 years relevant experience, comprising:

    • At least 5 years of classroom teaching experience; and
    • At least 5 years in a senior leadership role, preferably as a Principal, Vice Principal, Head of School, or equivalent position in a reputable private or high-performing public secondary school.
    • Candidates must demonstrate a proven record of improving student outcomes and achieving excellent results in external examinations.

    Knowledge, Skills and Competencies:
    The ideal candidate should possess:

    • Strong leadership and people-management skills.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
    • High emotional intelligence and conflict-resolution skills.
    • Sound knowledge of Nigerian educational policies and international best practices.
    • Demonstrated experience in curriculum development and school improvement.
    • Strong organisational, planning, and decision-making abilities.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and educational technology platforms.
    • Ability to build productive relationships with students, staff, parents, and external stakeholders.

    Location:

    • Applicants must be resident in Kabba, Kogi State, or be willing to relocate upon appointment.
