    Principal Quantity Surveyor / Cost Engineer

    Responsibilities
    Responsibilities include but not limited to:
    Cost Estimating and Budgeting:

    • Prepare detailed cost estimates and budgets for projects during pre-contract and post-contract stages.

    • Provide cost planning and value engineering advice.

    Contract Management:

    • Administer contracts, ensure compliance with terms and conditions, and manage variations, claims, and disputes.
    • Support in the selection and appointment of contractors and subcontractors.

    Cost Control and Monitoring:

    • Monitor project expenditures and ensure alignment with budgets.
    • Identify cost overruns and propose corrective actions.

    Procurement and Tendering:

    • Develop procurement strategies and prepare tender documentation.
    • Evaluate bids and provide recommendations for contract awards.

    Measurement and Valuation:

    • Undertake quantity take-offs, valuations of work in progress, and final account settlements.

    Reporting and Forecasting:

    • Prepare financial reports, cash flow forecasts, and risk analyses for management and stakeholders.

    Team Leadership and Mentorship:

    • Lead and mentor junior quantity surveyors or cost engineers.
    • Ensure adherence to professional standards and company policies.

    Stakeholder Coordination:

    • Liaise with clients, consultants, engineers, and contractors to ensure cost-effective delivery of projects.

    Qualifications

    • A recognized degree in Quantity surveying / Construction Economics / Construction Management or equivalent.
    • Minimum of 15 years post qualification experience out of which at least 5 years should have been spent in the Oil and Gas Sector.
    • Shall be a member of the Nigerian Institute of Quantity Surveyors.
