Powerplant Technician - Agbara at GZ Industries

Roles & Responsibilities

• Minimises production wastages by ensuring there are no power failures.
• Ensures efficient and uninterrupted power generation for GZl's consumption.
• Performs routine checks and investigations on the generators.
• Troubleshoots, maintains and repairs the generators.
• Ensures the generator plants are run at optimum performance.
• Maintains 0% downtime of the generators.
• Monitors GZl's Diesel and LPG consumption. Ensures Diesel and LPG levels are checked on an hourly basis.
• Troubleshoots and repairs faults and defects on the hot water line, chiller, cooling tower fans, and water pumps.
• Services Gas Engine and Diesel Engine Generators.
• This includes draining and changing engine Oil, changing Oil filters, changing and cleaning air filters, etc.
• Receives LPG and Diesel from suppliers.
• Monitors and records Engine parameter values.
• Carries out all tasks and activities in compliance with all the applicable Health, Safety and Environmental regulations.
• Adheres strictly to HSE regulations by ensuring PPE and safety tools provided are used at all times.
• Documents, implements and maintains the requirements of the Quality, Food Safety, Environment, Health and Safety management systems.

Required Education/ Qualification

• Minimum of a First Degree or HND in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years' relevant work experience, in a similar role within the manufacturing industry.
• Demonstrable experience in carrying out electrical maintenance.
