We are seeking an experienced Portfolio Manager to join our team.
In this role, you will play a vital part in actively managing funds, ensuring compliance, and driving business growth through strategic investment decisions.
Key Responsibilities
Actively manage all mutual funds within DLM Asset Management to meet or exceed targeted benchmarks.
Oversee the management of the High-Income Investment Portfolio (HIIP) to achieve a minimum margin of 3.5%.
Manage private portfolio assets and liabilities to minimize asset/liability mismatch and reduce ALM risk.
Identify and leverage market opportunities, demonstrating a minimum of N100m contributions from these opportunities.
Ensure the proper administration of all mutual funds, HIIP, and private portfolios.
Prepare investment justification memos for approval by the MD across various funds and investments.
Monitor investment performance to meet agreed benchmarks and rebalance portfolios to maintain asset allocation limits.
Conduct in-depth fundamental and technical research, providing relevant investment recommendations.
Deliver regular presentations on the economy, market trends, portfolio performance, and outlook to executive management, the Board of Trustees, and other stakeholders.
Collaborate with the business development team to manage client relationships and achieve business objectives.
Prepare investment teasers and monthly fact sheets, as well as other required investment reports.
Ensure full compliance with trust deeds and SEC regulations in managing funds.
Manage portfolio risks (liquidity, interest rate, price, market) and ensure all portfolios maintain an investment-grade rating (minimum of A).
Execute trades promptly and efficiently, avoiding any delays that may result in income loss.
Negotiate and minimize transaction costs to improve overall profitability.
Qualifications
A Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Social Sciences, or a related field.
CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) certification is an added advantage.
Minimum of 5 years post-NYSC experience in portfolio management, preferably within insurance companies, asset management firms, or pension funds.
Strong understanding of financial markets, asset management, and investment strategies.
Proven ability to conduct thorough financial research and analysis.
Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
Strong attention to detail, with the ability to comply with regulatory requirements.
Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams to meet business objectives.
