Plant Electrical Engineer at BU Power Limited

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement LV/HV electrical systems, including power distribution, control systems, and electrical infrastructure.
• Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues, faults, and emergencies.
• Conduct electrical safety audits and risk assessments.
• Knowledgeable in electronics design and management
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, maintenance, and mechanical engineers on site, ensuring synergy of operations and enhancing productivity.
• Ensure compliance with electrical standards, regulations, and industry best practices.
• Develop and implement electrical maintenance programs, including predictive and preventive maintenance.
• Knowledge of electrical motors, exciters, voltage and current controls
• Knowledge of electricity frequency management including synchronization
• Knowledge of Autocad electrical designs
• Provide technical and backup support to another engineer assigned to him, ensuring continuity in the absence of the primary engineer
• Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and innovations in electrical engineering.

Requirements

• HND/B.Eng. Electrical Engineering.
• 3+ years’ experience in plant/ similar operations
• Proficiency in DOL, StarDelta connection.
• Strong knowledge of electronics, electrical circuits, and systems.
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment with a focus on team work, safety and efficiency.
• Analytical mindset and solution oriented.
• Computer literacy with excellent knowledge of MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Time management, multitasking and collaborative skills.
• High operational standards and quality control.
• Self-driven and having a penchant for excellent results.
• Having integrity and diligence.
