Piping Designer (3D Modellers / 2D Designers) at International Energy Services Limited (IESL)

Job Overview

• Piping designers develop designs and plans for piping systems and related plumbing infrastructures.
• They create models, drawings, and schematics, often in 2D and 3D formats using a variety of designing programs and tools.
• They coordinate all the piping engineer, piping design and equipment layout function to meet the objectives of a project.

Job Responsibilities

• Communicate ownership responsibilities across department platforms to achieve 3D modeling of HVAC, steel & other equipment for project success.
• Initiate and manage drawing system for building architectural and facility drawings.
• Develop detailed 2-D engineering drawings using AutoCad, PDMS, etc
• Use of refinery piping code ANSI B31.3.
• Create piping and instrumentation diagrams using AutoCAD.
• General knowledge and use of PDMS program and others
• Used PDS to design and fix model.
• Used API codes to qualify process equipment
• Used GPS equipment to gather utility data.
• Work as the piping discipline sub-lead and piping checker
• Involve in the structural development of PDM system
• Task with the role of drawing checker for the mechanical group
• Create 3D models of pipe installations, support and skids
• Coordinate, supervises and check all piping design and drafting activities
• Pipe work modeling with PDMS/PDS and MDS etc. and 2-D drafting with AutoCAD, Micro station
• Provide on-the-job training and resolve issues pertaining to the software applications
• Ensures deliverables are produced to the correct level of quality and in accordance with the project plans and procedures
• Effectively produce quality drawings within schedule.
• Effectively manage changes within the discipline work scope.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering discipline
• Minimum of 5 years relevant work experience
• Professional / chartered Engineer (or equivalent).

Functional Competencies:

• Support and assist the lead piping engineer in matters related to planning, progressing and reporting,
• Compiles/develops plans for the production and issuing of the piping deliverables
• Participate and supervises pipework modeling PDMS/PDS designs and drafting activities, 2D model extraction, plant layout and piping drawing in accordance with relevant standards and procedure
• Identify scope and schedule changes in accordance with the Change Control Process.
