    People Operations Specialist

    About The Role

    The People Operations Specialist plays a crucial role in supporting the overall human resources and employee experience functions within the company. You’ll play a key role in people administration, understanding the various employee touchpoints and ensuring we deliver the best employee experience. It involves handling various people processes, employee relations, talent acquisition, performance management, people analytics & reporting, onboarding and offboarding, and contributing to the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures. You will collaborate with different departments to ensure the company's workforce is engaged, productive, and aligned with the organization's goals.

    In this role, you will be designated to one of Kora’s strategic business units. 

    Requirements

    Here are a couple of things you'll be doing:

    • HR Administration: Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records, and handle people-related documentation, such as employment contracts, offer letters, and policies.
    • Talent Acquisition: Work with the Senior Talent Acquisition Specialist to fulfil hiring needs.Onboarding: Champion the onboarding of new hires following the agreed checklists and procedures, organise the induction in collaboration with the stakeholders and work with the Head, People & Culture to constantly improve the onboarding process.
    • Offboarding: Work closely with the offboarding stakeholders to manage the offboarding process while ensuring a seamless employee experience.
    • Employee Relations: Address employee inquiries and concerns regarding people policies, procedures, and programs. 
    • Employment Engagement and Wellness: 
      • Work with the Head, People & Culture to facilitate engagement initiatives.
      • Plan logistics for internal and external events, e.g. monthly meetings, employee celebrations, team bonding activities, retreats, etc.
      • Work with the Head, People & Culture to come up with activities for special days and notable events.
      • Respond to employee inquiries and queries - leave management, policies, employee benefits, etc.
      • Assist with engagement initiatives like pulse checks, employee surveys, etc.
    • People Reporting & Analytics: You will work closely with the Head, People & Culture to extract, manipulate, and prepare periodic reports to make informed decisions.
    • Performance Management: Work with the Head, People & Culture to work with the different teams to drive the performance management process and prepare period performance management reports.
    • Training and Development:
      • Identify training needs within the organisation and assist in the implementation of training programs.
      • Support employee development initiatives to enhance skills and competencies.
    • Research and Information Gathering: You will be responsible for researching trends on keeping Scorers engaged. You will spend some time researching current labour laws, trends, fun activities, and projects to keep our people engaged and productive

    Here's what we are looking for:

    • A minimum of 3-4 years experience in Human Resources is essential.
    • aPHRi, ACIPM, SHRM-CP, or similar certifications would be an added advantage.
    • Experience in a high-growth team and/or startup experience.
    • Interpersonal skills for building and developing relationships with employees and an ability to influence stakeholders.
    • Someone passionate about ensuring that our people have the best experience while they work. To succeed in this role, you should have great empathy, a collaborative spirit, a sense of humour, and a positive attitude.
    • Great written and verbal communication skills - needed for communicating with a range of people, both internally and externally, as well as good presentation skills.
    • You are exceptionally driven and autonomous.
    • You are creative and have always wanted to showcase your creativity in a people capacity.
    • You’re highly data-driven and comfortable with numbers, using charts, excel, and other analytical tools.
    • Ability to exhibit high levels of professionalism, integrity, and ethical values at all times.
    • Ability to plan and prioritise own work under tight deadlines, as well as to work on own initiative and as a member of a team.
    • You are comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. - because we are a startup, we need someone who can easily adapt and work quickly to achieve results.
    • Finally, you are an out-of-the-box thinker and think of new ways to disrupt the status quo.
