    Payable and Reconciliation Officer

    Salary: ₦150,000 – ₦210,000 Monthly
    Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
    Work Arrangement: On-site for the first 3 months; thereafter, 4 days on-site and 1-day remote weekly.

    About the Role

    We are looking to hire a detail-oriented and analytical Payable and Reconciliation Officer to join our Finance team.

    The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and completeness of financial transactions, processing supplier invoices, monitoring cash and bank transactions, reconciling customer subscription revenue and payment collections, and promptly resolving or escalating discrepancies.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Process and accurately capture all payable accounting entries into the company’s system.
    • Process supplier invoices and ensure timely payment processing.
    • Analyse general ledger entries and ensure proper classification and tracking of financial transactions.
    • Investigate, reconcile and resolve outstanding receivable and payable items.
    • Reconcile bank transactions, customer payments and subscription revenue.
    • Reconcile collections from payment platforms such as Paystack and other payment gateways.
    • Conduct daily reconciliation of relevant CRM and payment data.
    • Monitor and resolve failed transactions, duplicate postings, missing payments and unmatched entries.
    • Perform expense analysis, calculations and monthly reporting.
    • Conduct payment confirmation and stock reconciliation.
    • Ensure SME revenue records are accurate and complete.
    • Liaise with banks, payment partners and internal departments to resolve financial discrepancies.
    • Conduct regular self-audits to ensure accuracy of financial entries and identify possible leakages or unnecessary expenses.
    • Prepare and submit weekly and monthly reports on expense assurance and accounts payable.
    • Promptly escalate payment issues and other identified financial challenges to the Team Lead.
    • Maintain strict confidentiality of the organisation’s financial information.
    • Maintain effective communication and collaboration with relevant internal and external stakeholders.

    Requirements

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or a related field.
    • Minimum of 2-year relevant work experience.
    • Good knowledge of accounting and financial analytics.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word and Outlook.
    • Knowledge of accounting software/ERP is required.
    • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
    • Good time and self-management skills.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
    • Good customer service, relationship management and communication skills.
    • Ability to work effectively within a team and respond positively to constructive feedback.
    • High level of integrity and confidentiality.

    What We Offer

    • Competitive monthly salary of ₦180,000 – ₦210,000, depending on experience and competence.

    Monday–Friday work schedule.

    • 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM working hours.
    • First 3 months fully on-site to support effective onboarding and integration.
    • Thereafter, a hybrid work arrangement of 4 days on-site and 1-day remote weekly.
    • Opportunity to work in a structured and growing organisation.

    Location

    • The role will initially be based in Lagos Island for the first four months, after which the position will operate from the organisation’s Lagos Mainland office.
