Packaging Technologist at Promasidor

JOB OBJECTIVE

• The Packing Technologist is responsible for coordinating and executing packaging-related activities, including conducting packaging line trials, performing laboratory analysis of materials, and resolving quality issues in collaboration with factory teams. The role involves managing packaging documentation, developing specifications and SOPs, and supporting new product development (NPD) as well as margin improvement projects.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Conduct assigned packaging line trials and write reports.
• Coordinate reception and laboratory analysis of packaging materials
• Work with the factory in resolving packaging quality issues.
• Attend to packaging documentation tasks such as printed standard files, colour shade files, chromalins and artworks.
• Offer support on NPD and Margin Improvement projects.
• Writing of packaging specifications and SOPs.
• Conduct literature searches and benchmark studies.
• Support food safety activities of the Department.
• Packaging reception and laboratory analysis of packaging materials.
• Any other job assigned by the Line Manager

Experience

• Minimum of B.Sc / HND in Food Science & Technology, or related Sciences and Engineering fields.
• 2 to 4 years work experience in an FMCG company within a Packaging Development or R&D environment
• A diploma in Packaging Technology would be a distinct advantage
