    Online Audio / Sound Editor

    Job Description

    • We are looking for an audio editor to be responsible for editing and mixing audios for audio-visual material.
    • The responsibilities of an audio editor include synchronizing sound scenes, creating sound effects, and creating the mood desired by the Director.
    • We are searching for innovative, reliable sound editors to join our team and work on a range of projects.
    • You will work remotely/online to manipulate sound, enhance audio with appropriate sound effects, fixing sound-related issues, working with producers, and complete projects to specifications.

    Responsibilities

    • Interested candidates should possess an SSCE qualification with 5 - 10 years work experience.
    • Creating and compiling soundtracks.
    • Creating original Jiggles
    • Collaborating with voice over professionals.
    • Editing sound effects and music according to the director's vision.
    • Manipulating and enhancing live and recorded audio.
    • Diagnosing and troubleshooting equipment.
    • Understanding briefs and making helpful suggestions if possible and appropriate.
    • Editing and mixing audio to client specifications.
    • Improvising props to produce required sounds.
    • Building solid, professional relationships with other artists and clients.
    • Synchronizing audio to video content.

    Requirements

    • Prove of participation in audiovisual projects is advantageous.
    • Practical experience with recording, editing, and mixing software. (Audacity, etc.)
    • Familiarity with audio mixing consoles, microphones, and equalizers.
    • A good ear and creative spirit.
    • Ability to follow instructions and remain professional under pressure.
    • Sound troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
    • Technical skill in mixing, scoring, and editing.
    • A portfolio of previous work.
    • A creative approach to sound editing.
    • A good ear for audio tones.
    • The ability to balance audio and visuals effectively.
    • The ability to take constructive criticism.

    Skills:

    • You should be able to offer creative input, but also follow written and verbal instructions.
    • To be successful as a sound editor in Matshall Academy, you should demonstrate patience, attention to detail, and great interpersonal skills. Outstanding sound editors are able to admit to their mistakes, think on their feet, and make effective recommendations.
    • To be successful as a sound editor, you should demonstrate good communication and teamwork skills, be highly creative, and be able to concentrate for long periods of time. Ultimately, a top-notch sound editor should have the ability to take direction, create a balanced end product, and solve complex problems.
    • A Sound Editor creates the soundtrack by cutting and synchronizing to the picture, sound elements, such as production wild tracks, dialogue tracks, library material and foley in analog or digital form and presents these to the re-recording mixer for final sound balance.
    • Depending on the complexity and the tightness of the schedule it may be necessary to employ a dialogue editor and/or foley editor.
    • They work closely with the sound designer, re-recording mixer and the director to establish what sound effects are required throughout the production and to ensure that these effects are available from sound effect libraries, or can be created to production requirements within tight time schedules.
    • He or she Must be computer literate and have a good working knowledge of sound recording, playback, editing and mixing equipment, also experience in the various soundtrack delivery systems. Excellent hearing and a good sense of timing are required, as are attention to detail and good communication skills.
    • Sound Editors must have an excellent working understanding of acoustics, sound recording processes and electronics, and an expert knowledge of all post production sound equipment, processes and procedures, both analog and digital.
