Network Engineer at FIOMBAS NIGERIA LIMITED

JOB BRIEF:
We are looking for a Network Engineer to design, implement, maintain, and support our growing network infrastructure. You will be part of a systems engineering team that is responsible for designing and developing scalable, maintainable, highly available network architectures that meet business objectives and SLAs. The successful candidate shall be responsible for creating IT networks for the company. Your duties shall also include using your IT knowledge to develop company networks, coordinating with company leadership to identify network needs and providing assistance to employees and other individuals on how to use the network effectively.

JOB DESCRIPTIONS:

• Support and develop the networks used by the company.
• Maintaining computer networks including mainframes, VPNs, routers and other physical hardware.
• Installing and configuring network equipments.
• Creating firewalls and updating virus protection software and data security systems to keep data and communications protected.
• Monitoring computer systems to improve network performance for all systems.
• Troubleshooting, resolving, and communicating networking issues to other employees and management.
• Implementing disaster recovery procedures.
• Maintaining current knowledge and understanding of security and networking best practices to offer the best solutions and protection to company systems.
• Research, planning, implementation and maintenance of technical network solutions, so they relate to organizational goals including engineering enterprise data, voice and video networks, establishing and operating network test facilities.
• Configure, install, maintain and provide support for critical software and hardware components.
• Monitor systems availability, troubleshoot and resolve connectivity interruptions.
• Help develop disaster recovery or business continuity plans.
• Maintain a secure transfer of data to multiple locations via internal and external networks.
• Provides basic level support and technical expertise bib networking technology including: LAN/WAN hardware, wireless, bridges and routers.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

• BSc in Computer Science or related field.
• Proven hands-on network engineering experience.
• CCNP or higher (CCIE and/or CISSP highly valued)
• Deep understanding of networking protocols (e.g., IPSEC, HSRP, BGP, OSPF, 802.11, QoS)
• Solid understanding of the OSI or TCP/IP model
• Hands-on experience with monitoring, network diagnostic and network analytics tools
