    MNH Data Modeling Specialist

    Description

    • The role of the MNH M&E/Data Modeling Specialist will be to provide high level technical expertise in the harnessing and use of data from the Foundations MNH portfolio to perform regular data modeling which solve for the current gap in establishing concrete denominators for planning and scale analytics.
    • Furthermore, the role will enable NOIPolls to model key sub-national MNH indices like MMR, NMR, etc. currently available at the national level only. The specialist will further strengthen indigenous capacity to conduct high level modelling using MNH data for the Nigeria MNH Portfolio. The role will ensure that NOIPolls meets all data analytics/modeling deliverables from time to time.

    Responsibilities

    • She/he will Lead in the development and implementation of the NOIPolls M&E strategy and the use of data analytical skills to model MNH data (evidence) for decision making.

    Other responsibilities will include:

    • Develop and manage an in-country repository of MNH data generated from various programs, reports and databases for further analysis and triangulations.
    • Develop modelling tools to support regular MNH data modelling at national and subnational level.
    • Use modern software’s to perform statistical analysis to aid evidence generation for MNH investments in Nigeria.
    • Effectively harness MNH data by ensuring synergy with the data structures of NOIPolls and other investments within the MNH portfolio.
    • Provide monthly report on ongoing MNH data modelling activities
    • Any other role assigned by the CEO and the Director of Research/MNH Lead.
    • Additional tasks may be assigned as required by the management team.

    Required Competencies

    Education and Experience

    • MSc in Public Health, Statistics, Research, or any related course from a recognized institution.
    • 7 years’ experience in conducting Health related Data modelling, or Social Research in a similar industry or progressive work experience in a similar role.
    • Proficiency in use of tools in Data Modeling, Mining and Analysis.
    • Strong writing skills (Previous Publications will be an added advantage)

    Core Requirements:

    • Good understanding of MNCH space in Nigeria and key interventions driven to address the gaps.
    • Knowledge of ER Modelling, Big data, and physical data models.
    • Familiarity with data modelling software such as R, SAP Power Designer, Microsoft Viso, Erwin Data Modeler and lots more.
    • Excellent presentation, communication, and organisational skills
    • Proficient in use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, and other analytical tools
    • Reliable relationship and stakeholder management, able to deliver outputs in a timely manner
    • Flexibility to travel, work schedule, and assignments
