We are a leading 5-star international luxury hotel strategically located in the city of Port Harcourt and are currently seeking for employment dynamic, result-oriented and self-motivated candidates to fill the position below:

Brief

• Mixologists are responsible for creating and crafting cocktails, alcoholic beverages, non-alcoholic drinks, and other concoctions. They’re often tasked with inventing new recipes and perfecting existing ones to ensure that their establishment has a unique and desirable menu of options for patrons.
• Mixologists must have an extensive knowledge of different types of alcohol, how they interact with each other when combined, and how they can be altered or enhanced by various ingredients or flavorings. This requires a strong understanding of chemistry and the way different substances react with one another under different conditions.

Mixologist Job Duties:

Mixologists have a wide range of responsibilities, which can include:

• Maintaining a well-stocked bar, including all ingredients needed to prepare signature drinks and standard drink orders
• Preparing non-alcoholic beverages such as smoothies, coffee, tea, juice, etc. for patrons
• Preparing alcoholic drinks by mixing ingredients such as liquor, beer, wine, juice, etc.
• Preparing non-alcoholic beverages such as smoothies, coffee, tea, juice, etc. for patrons
• Preparing specialty drinks such as margaritas, martinis, daiquiris, etc. according to recipes provided by management
• Setting up bar stations with supplies such as glasses, mixers, bottles of liquor, beers on tap, etc.
• Maintaining a clean and organized bar area to ensure a safe environment for customers
• Consulting with customers on their drink orders to ensure they are served correctly and efficiently
• Mixing ingredients in accordance with recipes to create special drinks or cocktails
• Monitors and manages the ordering of all beer, wine, spirits, and bar tools and equipment
• Have full knowledge of all menu items, garnishes, contents , costing and preparation methods
• Maintains stock, prepares, cures and stores all fresh fruit and vegetable garnishes, juices and other perishables to ensure product quality
• Ensure that appropriate stock/par level of all bar items is constantly maintained
• Utilize appropriate stemware/glassware as required by company standards, polish glassware, stock bar supplies to par levels
• Create and push the limits of what mixed drinks can be
• Have great knowledge of alcohol and alcohol history
• Use one’s expert knowledge to create innovative drinks and cocktails that explore the boundaries of flavors
• Have passion to experiment in mixing new drinks

• Degree in Hospitality, Hotel and Restaurant Management, Culinary, Business/Administration, Food Service Management, Education, Restaurant Management, Management, Tourism, Human Resources.
• Training with subjects concerning the food Beverage service industry is a bonus.
• Prior experience as a Mixologist.
• Excellent communication and listening skills.
• Effective multitasking and time management skills.
• Enthusiastic, friendly, and well-mannered.
• Must have patience while dealing with a customer.
• Basic computer, micros and software knowledge.
• 6 years of experience in the Food and Beverage service is required. Customer service experience is preferred, preferably in the hospitality section.
