• This is a full-time on-site role for a Mining Engineer based in Abuja.
• The successful candidate will lead and manage our mining operations across all stages of development.
• This includes mine planning, designing extraction methodologies, and executing mining operations while managing resources and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
• The role involves collaborating with various stakeholders to optimize extraction processes, improve operational efficiency, and maximize resource recovery.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement mining plans and extraction strategies
• Oversee daily mining operations and supervise technical staff
• Collaborate with geologists for mineral resource estimation and evaluation
• Monitor production outputs and quality control processes
• Ensure compliance with safety protocols and environmental regulations
• Optimize mining processes to improve efficiency and reduce operational costs
• Prepare technical reports and presentations for management and stakeholders
• Stay current with industry trends and technological advancements in mineral extraction

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering, Geology, or related field; Master's degree will be added advantage
• Minimum 5 years of experience in mining operations
• Proven expertise in mineral resource evaluation and estimation
• Strong knowledge of mining techniques
• Experience with mining software
• Familiarity with environmental impact assessment and mitigation strategies
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Excellent project management and leadership skills
• Outstanding communication and teamwork capabilities
• Professional certification or membership in relevant geological or mining associations
