Mill Roller / Mill Filler at African Industries Group (AIG)

Job Responsibilities

• During running continuous monitoring of guides, roll cooling and guide lubrication
• Monitoring the trial billets through the mill and makes necessary adjustments to get the finished product
• During production, regularly monitors and adjusts the roll gap to ensure correct size and weight per meter length.
• Takes necessary corrective action for any operational fault, mis-rolls etc.
• Continuous monitoring of finished product by checking its weight/meter and for visual defects.
• Inform Shift In-charge / Manager during repeated problems.
• Feedback to Shift In-charge / Manager at end of shift.
• When required prepares the spare Rolls& guides with all other accessories prior to change.
• Keeps his work place in a clean and tidy condition also his tools in a safe operational condition.
• Responsible for maintaining proper discipline with the contractor and his employee’s.
• Ensure compliance with Safety, HSE, PPE systems and procedures and to aim at Zero accident.
• Implement procedures and records confirming to ISO for Mills.
• Carry out any other duty that may be assigned from time to time.
