About the Role

• Are you passionate about electrical systems and eager to kickstart your career in the power distribution sector? Ikeja Electric is seeking a dedicated Meter Installation Assistant to support our metering operations in the Ikorodu Business Unit.
• This role offers hands-on experience in electricity meter installation, testing, and maintenance, while ensuring safety and compliance with industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in installing and wiring electricity meters at customer premises
• Support meter reading verification and ensure accurate consumption tracking
• Help troubleshoot and replace faulty meters under supervision
• Prepare tools, materials, and equipment for daily tasks
• Follow safety procedures during installations and electrical work
• Accurately record meter details and site conditions
• Provide basic customer support during installation visits
• Maintain documentation and daily job reports
• Perform basic meter testing under guidance
• Ensure proper housekeeping and tool return after assignments

Minimum Qualifications

• SSCE / WAEC / NECO with credit passes in Mathematics, English, and Physics
• Technical Certificate (Trade Test I–III) or NTC in Electrical Installation preferred
• OND in Electrical/Electronic Engineering is an added advantage
• 0–2 years of relevant experience in electrical or metering installation
• Prior apprenticeship or assistant role in a power distribution company is a plus

Technical Skills:

• Basic electrical knowledge and safety awareness
• Familiarity with single-phase, three-phase, and smart meters
• Wiring and cable termination skills
• Proper handling of electrical tools and testing instruments
• Fault identification and reporting
• Accurate record keeping and technical documentation
