MEP Quantity Surveyor at Construction Kaiser

Summary

• Manage the costs on all projects and more specifically the Mechanical & Electrical packages, identify areas of cost overruns and/or savings and minimize effect at early stage.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Ensure operational targets are met on all MEP Works (Plumbing, HVAC and Electrical) and Pricing, Rate Buildup of Materials, Labor, Plants etc
• Check Bills of Quantities
• General contract administration
• Prepare project cash flow
• Monitor progress and maintain up-to-date project measurement
• Take off material quantities to prepare for purchase
• Submit and agree on monthly contract value of work done
• Measure and agree on sub-contractors’ payments
• Prepare, submit and agree variations
• Prepare, submit and agree project claims
• Measure and agree final account
• Develop financial plans including budgeting and forecasting for the short and long term
• Analyze the business performance, including the profitability, revenue, pricing and project cost
• Manage budgets, expenses and pricing and commercial arrangements
• Lead role in advising around pricing for commercial contracts
• Manage relationships with key operations vendors
• Conduct in-depth reviews of all project or contract documents and provide detailed reports.
• Manage changes to the project scope, time and cost and ensure nil effect on quality
• Ensure all project close out documentation are completed and submitted
• Report all potential financial and operational risks and escalate issues as required.

Educational Qualifications and Requirements

• Minimum of HND / B.Sc. in Quantity Surveying
• Minimum of 4 years’ relevant experience
• Membership of NIQS an added advantage
• Excellent commercial awareness.
