    Medical Laboratory Scientist

    Job Summary:

    • We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Medical Laboratory Scientist to join our team as the Laboratory Manager.
    • The Laboratory Manager will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our diagnostic laboratory, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and maintaining quality control procedures.
    • The ideal candidate will have strong leadership abilities, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to delivering accurate and timely results.

    Responsibilities:

    Laboratory Operations Management:

    • Oversee all aspects of laboratory operations, including sample processing, testing, and result reporting.
    • Develop and implement operational policies and procedures to ensure efficient workflow and adherence to quality standards.
    • Monitor laboratory activities to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including CLIA, CAP, and other accrediting agencies.

    Quality Control and Assurance:

    • Establish and maintain quality control measures to ensure accuracy and reliability of test results.
    • Conduct regular quality assurance audits and proficiency testing to assess laboratory performance and identify areas for improvement.
    • Investigate and resolve any issues related to quality control and ensure corrective actions are implemented as needed.

    Staff Management and Development:

    • Recruit, train, and supervise laboratory staff, including Medical Laboratory Technicians and Assistants.
    • Provide leadership and guidance to staff members, fostering a positive work environment and promoting teamwork and collaboration.
    • Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to staff to support their professional development and growth.

    Equipment and Inventory Management:

    • Oversee maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability of test results.
    • Manage inventory of laboratory supplies and reagents, including ordering, stock control, and vendor management.
    • Coordinate with vendors and service providers for equipment maintenance and repair as needed.

    Safety and Compliance:

    • Enforce safety protocols and ensure compliance with infection control procedures to maintain a safe working environment for staff and patients.
    • Stay informed about changes in regulatory requirements and industry standards related to laboratory operations and ensure timely implementation of updates.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
    • Current certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) or Medical Technologist (MT) from a recognized accrediting agency.
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience working in a clinical laboratory setting, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role.
    • Strong knowledge of laboratory procedures, quality control principles, and regulatory requirements.
    • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to effectively prioritize tasks, manage time, and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
