    Medical / Hazardous Waste Manager

    Qualifications

    • Minimum of a graduate Degree in Environmental or Medical Sciences or any other science course with a Master’s Degree in any of these courses (Public Health, Environmental/Medical Sciences, any other relevant courses)
    • At least 3 years of progressive experience on hazardous and medical waste activities
    • Good technical and organisational background in performing hazardous and waste for programs/projects;
    • Strong communication skills (oral and written) in English, and fluency in other Nigerian languages is an added advantage.

    Responsibilities

    • Maintain inventory of hazardous and medical waste on site and quantify specialised waste
    • Review generation rates of different streams of hazardous and medical waste
    • Keep track of shipment of waste off site and of estimated emissions
    • Keep tabs on new pollution-control technologies
    • Keep up with regulations and legislation and how they affect operations and disposal practices
    • Supervise the transportation of waste to ensure that it takes place efficiently without leaks or spills
    • Periodically assess waste operations to identify modifications to capture hazardous / medical waste
    • Provide technical advices on provision of medical waste treatment technologies, equipment, and PPEs
    • Medical / hazardous waste characterization and management
    • Identifying gaps within the specialised waste management architecture and providing feasible plans to satisfy the bottomline
    • Day to day operations of medical and hazardous waste management
    • Assist hospitals and industrial settings to develop operations and maintenance plan towards hazardous and medical waste.

    Salary
    N150,000 - N500,000 monthly.
