As the Mechanic, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining Mercedes-Benz trucks and other company vehicles to ensure optimal performance, safety, and minimal downtime.
Responsibilities
Diagnose, repair, and carry out preventive maintenance on Mercedes-Benz trucks and other company vehicles
Inspect engines, transmissions, braking systems, suspension, and other mechanical components to identify faults and recommend appropriate repairs
Perform routine servicing, parts replacement, and vehicle inspections to ensure roadworthiness and compliance with safety standards
Maintain accurate maintenance records and collaborate with fleet operations to minimize vehicle downtime
Ensure tools, equipment, and the workshop are properly maintained while adhering to health, safety, and company standards.
Requirements
HND, OND, Trade Test Certificate, or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Technology, or a related field
3 - 5 years' experience as an Automotive or Heavy-Duty Vehicle Mechanic, preferably within an FMCG, logistics, transport, or fleet management environment
Strong hands-on experience servicing and repairing Mercedes-Benz trucks and other commercial vehicles
Sound knowledge of diesel engines, vehicle diagnostics, preventive maintenance, and mechanical repair techniques
Excellent troubleshooting, problem-solving, and time management skills with the ability to work independently.
