    Managing Director, Trust Services

    Job Summary

    The Managing Director Trust Services will be responsible for driving the business strategy and operations, revenue generation, relationship management and implementation of strategies for acquiring new clients and expanding the clientele base for Institutional and Private Trusts.

    Responsibilities

    • Responsible for preparing and implementing comprehensive strategic plans to facilitate the achievement of the company’s financial and non-financial objectives.
    • Review and make decisions on the management and operation of Trusteeship arrangements across Public, Private and Corporate Trust products to ensure that Legal procedures are followed in accordance with application regulations, risk management framework, etc.
    • Relationship management of HNI and Institutional Clients to expand the business and market niche.
    • Play leading role in generating new business and retaining existing clientele.
    • Solicit, develop, generate, and manage full-service relationships with Trust Clients including HNIs and Institutions.
    • Maintain client base, keeping current Private and Corporate Trust client plans up-to-date and engaging new clients on an ongoing basis.
    • Provide clients with a high level of individualized customer service and strategies consistent with their service needs/expectations.
    • Provide Trust expertise and professional investment advice using the best services and products available to ensure clients' financial and non-financial goals are met.
    • Provide proactive advice on transactions, new products and business initiatives within the company
    • Ensure the proper investment of funds held under Trustee arrangement.
    • Establish performance objectives & targets for team members. Monitor and evaluate the performance of the team.
    • Development of strategic relationship management systems to diversify services whilst remaining within the provisions of client agreements and regulators.
    • Oversee rendition of periodic reports to the Issuer and Regulators (SEC & NSE) and other forms of regulatory engagements as needed.
    • Contribute to the development of new Trust products and develop proposals for prospects.
    • Drive market research as they relate to the Trust services industry and business activities.
    • Review and advise on prospectus, pricing supplements, and trust deeds for commercial/corporate bonds transactions to meet regulatory standards
    • Interact and liaise with Banks, Intermediaries and clients on all Trust related transactions
    • Manage security/collateral perfection processes, receivership, foreclosure and other enforcement procedures on behalf of the company. 

    Requirements

    • Bachelors degree in Law, Economics or other related disciplines.
    • ICSAN, CIS, ACCA or similar professional qualification is an added advantage.
    • SEC Sponsorship is an added advantage.

    KNOWLEDGE & PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

    Experience

    • Minimum of 10 years business development experience in the financial services industry and a minimum of 5 years experience in a trustee firm.
    • Good knowledge of the Capital market and its operations
    • Extensive knowledge of Regulatory provisions applicable to Trust service providers with particular emphasis on all applicable laws governing Trusteeship.
    • Advanced knowledge and understanding of the Trust Business including private and commercial trusts, corporate and state bonds, etc.

    SKILLS & ABILITIES

    • Ability to develop strong and influential relationships
    • Must possess sales acumen, good understanding of Trust services business, and familiarity with the legal and regulatory landscape.
    • Good knowledge of funds management and investment processes, broad technical skills in wealth management, debenture, security trust, and collective investment scheme.
