Job Summary

• The Magento Developer will be responsible for developing, customizing, and maintaining enterprise-grade Magento applications and eCommerce platforms.
• The role involves integrating payment gateways and third-party services, optimizing platform performance, supporting deployment activities, and ensuring secure coding and governance compliance across digital commerce solutions.
• The ideal candidate should possess strong technical expertise in Magento development, enterprise integrations, and Agile delivery methodologies, with the ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Develop, customize, and maintain Magento applications, modules, and eCommerce solutions.
• Integrate payment gateways, APIs, and third-party services into Magento platforms.
• Optimize platform performance, scalability, reliability, and overall user experience.
• Troubleshoot application defects, technical issues, and platform-related challenges.
• Collaborate with UI/UX designers, QA teams, developers, and business stakeholders during project delivery.
• Support deployment, release management, and post-release validation activities.
• Implement secure coding practices and ensure compliance with platform governance standards.
• Maintain technical documentation, release notes, implementation guides, and operational artefacts.
• Support testing activities, defect resolution, and root cause analysis processes.
• Work within governance, quality assurance, and compliance frameworks.
• Ensure secure payment integrations and proper handling of sensitive customer and transaction data.
• Support multiple eCommerce initiatives, releases, and evolving business requirements.
• Quickly adapt to new technologies, platform requirements, and delivery priorities.
• Follow coding, documentation, and operational standards consistently.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Business, or a related discipline.
• Postgraduate degree or relevant professional certifications will be an added advantage.
• Must have completed NYSC.
• Minimum of 7–15+ years of relevant professional experience depending on role level (Intermediate, Specialist, or Consultant).
• Demonstrated experience working within enterprise-scale digital, IT, or eCommerce environments.
• Strong understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Agile delivery methodologies (Scrum/Kanban).

Required Skills & Competencies:

• Strong experience with Magento development, customization, and enterprise integrations.
• Proficiency in APIs, payment gateway integrations, and third-party service connectivity.
• Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, deployment processes, and version control systems.
• Strong understanding of secure coding, platform governance, and data protection standards.
• Knowledge of quality assurance processes, testing methodologies, and defect management.
• Ability to maintain technical documentation and operational artefacts effectively.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams and under changing priorities.
• Understanding of scalability, reliability, security, and performance optimization principles.
• Ability to support multiple projects and evolving business needs efficiently.
