    Magazine Manager

    Responsibilities

    • Oversee the safe and secure storage of explosives, ensuring adherence to safety standards and legal regulations.
    • Monitor the stock levels of explosives, ensuring accurate records are maintained and managing the receipt, storage, and issuance of materials.
    • Enforce safety protocols related to the storage and handling of explosives, ensuring that the magazine is compliant with local, state, and international regulations.
    • Perform routine inspections of the storage facilities to identify potential hazards or violations, and ensure proper safety equipment is in place.
    • Work with procurement, supply chain, and operational teams to ensure a steady supply of explosives without compromising safety.
    • Identify and assess risks associated with the storage and handling of explosives, and take proactive measures to mitigate those risks.
    • Conduct training for warehouse staff, security personnel, and other relevant teams on proper handling and safety procedures for explosives.
    • Prepare and submit compliance reports to relevant authorities, detailing storage conditions, inventory levels, and incident reports, if any.
    • Develop and maintain emergency response plans for the magazine, ensuring preparedness in case of accidents, fire, or security breaches.
    • Keep accurate records of all explosives transactions (receipt, storage, issue) and ensure proper documentation of all activities within the magazine.
    • Manage the application and renewal of licenses and permits required for storing explosives.
    • Ensure that the storage facility complies with environmental regulations concerning the disposal or handling of hazardous materials.
    • Work closely with the security team to ensure proper surveillance, access control, and security protocols are in place.
    • Identify opportunities for improving safety, storage efficiency, and operations within the magazine.

    Requirements

    • HND or Bachelor degree in mining Engineer
    • 5-10years of experience in explosives handling or safety management, preferably in a manufacturing or mining environment.
    • Deep understanding of explosives safety regulations, environmental laws, and risk management practices.
    • Relevant safety certifications (e.g., OSHA, Mine Safety, or other industry-specific certifications).
