Machine Operator (Weaving) at Jaykay Group

Job Summary

• We are looking for aweaving machine operator who will setup, operate, and monitor looms to weave yarn into carpet.
• You will beresponsible for preparing the machine, monitoring the weaving process, and ensuring the quality of the finished product, while also performing basic maintenance and repairs.

Responsibilities

• Threading shuttles with yarn, positioning and feeding machines with yarn packages, and setting up loom patterns.
• Operating looms to weave yarn into carpet, monitoring the weaving process for defects, and making adjustments to maintain quality.
• Examining finished carpets for defects, reporting machine malfunctions, and carrying out quality control procedures.
• Repairing minor mechanical problems like broken yarns by splicing or tying ends, and reporting major issues to supervisors or maintenance personnel.
• Loading and unloading materials, such as yarn packages, onto the machine.
• Following safety procedures and maintaining a clean and organized work area.

Qualifications

• OND/SSCE
• Proven work experience in a textile company.
• 2-5 years related work experience.

Requirements / Skills:

• Ability to operate and maintain weaving machines, understand loom patterns, and identify defects.
• Ability to stand for long periods, handle materials, and perform repetitive tasks.
• Ability to work with precision and control, especially when threading machines and repairing yarns.
• Ability to identify and resolve minor mechanical issues and quality problems.
• Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors and other team members.
• Ability to identify even minor defects in the woven carpet.
