    Logistics and Facilities Manager

    Job Description

    • The Logistics and Facilities Manager shall effectively direct, manage, and coordinate marine logistics, crew change, drivers, and the company’s fleet of vehicles. Lead and directed strategic planning for logistics and transport services.
    • Responsible for the distribution, maintenance, repair, and utilization of the entire vehicle fleet and facilities in the company.

    • To ensure the proper utilization and efficient use of the funds being granted to the transport office.
    • Responsible for the allocation and proper rotation of appropriate work and assignments to the drivers.
    • The coordination of training courses and workshops, which are held to raise issues, related to logistics, etc.
    • Required to evaluate employee performance and coordinate the individual yearly work plans for all the drivers working in the logistics department.
    • Ensure that all drivers maintain their respective vehicles in clean and sound operational condition to minimize loss of man-hours and cost.
    • Ensure that the licenses of all drivers are current and up-to-date.
    • Oversee all maintenance work carried out on all vehicles to ensure that they are carried out at a reasonable cost and at appropriate time scales.
    • To be responsible for the storage and distribution of all POL products for offices and vessels and maintaining good records of their transactions
    • Keeping records and stock of all logistics, tools, and spares in the warehouse including onboard spares and tools in liaison with the Tech and Ops.
    • Responsible for the implementation and update of the company logistics module in the Open ERP and MX Suite.
    • Tracking, receiving, and dispatching logistics items procures or exported on behalf of the Company.
    • Working in liaison with the procurement officer and coordinating channeling activities involving the use of reefers for delivery to the vessels.
    • Responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of own reefer container ensuring its availability for all delivery.
    • Maintain accurate records of maintenance jobs carried out on all vehicles and submit a report of the activities to AGM Tech and Ops on a monthly basis.
    • Oversee the routine servicing of all vehicles by maintaining a record of routine servicing of vehicles and their due date for the next servicing.
    • Ensure safekeeping and stocking of required spare parts for vehicles as appropriate.
    • Maintain appropriate documentation of particulars for each vehicle both in the vehicles and in the office and highlight vehicle licenses, insurance, and other documents due for renewal in good time to ensure that renewal is done as when due.
    • Ensure optimal functionality of facilities across all business locations- These include corporate office, guest house, Chairman’s’ residence, etc
    • Supervise and manage all vendors associated with facility maintenance, processing bills accordingly
    • Support with vessel chandelling
    • Support with logistics requirements for disembarkation and embarkation during crew change
    • Attend all monthly HSE meetings and note issues relating to your function for effective implementation.
    • Carry out such other duties as may be assigned from time to time by Management

    Qualifications

    • First Degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain or any relevant field.
    • 4 -6 years of cognate experience
    • Experience working in the Logistics and Facilities department of Marine company will be an added advantage
    • Knowledge of estimating, budgeting, and scheduling practices.
    • Good Knowledge of logistics, facilities management, distribution, and supply chain infrastructure
    • Good knowledge of warehousing and Inventory management
    • Understanding of procurement and contract laws

    • IT Appreciation and Application

    • Analytical Thinking &Logical reasoning
    • Effective planning and organizational skills
