    ABOUT OUR CLIENT

Our client is developing the Ajaokuta Mini Project in Kogi State, a planned 7 MMscfd mini facility. Site works are under way, plant equipment manufactured in China is in sea transit, and first gas is targeted for April 2027, subject to readiness and approvals. They are building a lean, high-accountability execution team and are looking for a Logistics and Customs Coordinator to join them.

    THE ROLE

Coordinate end-to-end import logistics for China-manufactured Mini-LNG equipment moving by sea, covering documentation, customs clearance, port handling, inland and abnormal-load transport, receipt and preservation, and later LNG dispatch and customer delivery logistics.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Maintain a shipment-by-shipment tracker covering vessel, port, documents, insurance, customs status and required delivery dates
    • Verify and reconcile shipping and customs documents to purchase orders and equipment registers
    • Coordinate shipping agents, freight forwarders, customs brokers, port terminals and insurers to avoid demurrage and delays
    • Plan port-to-Ajaokuta heavy-haul movements, including route surveys, permits, escorts and contingencies
    • Coordinate safe offloading, receiving checks, damage and shortage reporting and secure storage
    • Keep procurement expediting logs and track long-lead items, spares and tools
    • Prepare the future LNG dispatch and customer delivery logistics plan

    REQUIREMENTS

    • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, logistics, engineering, business or a related field
    • 5+ years of import logistics and customs clearance experience in Nigeria, preferably with project cargo or heavy-lift movements
    • Sound knowledge of Nigerian customs procedures, Incoterms and shipping documentation
    • Experience managing freight forwarders, customs brokers and transport contractors
    • Strong attention to documentation, cost control and compliance, including anti-bribery standards
    • Membership of CILT or a similar professional body is an advantage

    WHAT THEY VALUE

Execution discipline, evidence-based reporting, clear communication and a willingness to raise concerns early. They work by their values: Accountability, Responsibility, Efficiency, Teamwork and Excellence.
