Logistics and Clearing Manager (Import and Clearing) at Ascentech Services Limited

Job Brief

• We are looking for a reliable Logistics Manager to be responsible for the overall supply chain management with good experience in the import and Clearing process and relationships with shipping companies in Nigeria.
• The goal is to manage the entire order cycle to enhance business development and ensure sustainability and customer satisfaction.

General Responsibilities
Strategically plan and manage logistics:

• Responsible for managing the relationship with customs and other regulatory agencies to ensure the On-Time-In-Full (OTIF) delivery of all company consignments.
• Interpret fiscal and monetary policies that Impact the company's import and export interests across the group in line with the efficient and lawful execution of all these activities using appropriate tariffs to ensure optimal cost savings.
• Develop logistics processes for efficient delivery and container turn-around time aimed at zero demurrage, both within the port of discharge and at the factory premises.
• Put in place a process that brings about visibility for Cargo tracking, rent waiver, and claims arising from short shipment, theft and damages with the shipping, terminal operators and insurance companies.
• Train and build the capability of the company resources to be the leading edge in Customs clearance.
• Act as the in-house expert on clearing, HS code tariffs and relevant governmental agencies and policies
• Ensure that the final products received from the production department have been carefully packaged to ensure that they reach customers in good and sound condition.
• Ensure that the internal receipt voucher is signed between the production and the logistics department by the production manager and the production coordinator with the logistics manager.
• Negotiating with carriers to get the best trucks and services at the lowest possible cost.
• Issuing the delivery note and recording it.
• Accompanying delivery trucks to customer locations to ensure on-time delivery.
• Recruitment of workers to offload the goods and ensure their inventory and delivery to the customer or his representative, with confirmation of the recipient's signature on the delivery note that the goods have been received in good condition.
• Monitor and control all company drivers.
• Obtaining the best insurance deal for goods in transit in the case of interstate delivery, and taking on all responsibilities for shipping, loading, and offloading.

General Requirements and Skills

• B.Sc in Business Administration, Logistics or Supply Chain
• Minimum of 5 years as a logistics manager
• Proven working experience in the Logistics department in a shipment and clearing company or logistic and supply chain company
• Record of successful distribution and logistics management
• Demonstrable ability to lead and manage staff.
• Proficient in standard logistics software
• Excellent analytical, problem solving and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and handle multiple projects.
