    Litigation Clerk

    Role Summary

    • The ideal candidate will assist our Lawyers in all aspects of litigation processes, from case preparation to trial.
    • This role requires excellent attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Case Management:

    • Assist lawyers in organizing and managing case files, including indexing documents, maintaining electronic databases, and ensuring all deadlines are met.
    • Track deadlines, court dates, and hearing schedules to ensure timely preparation and attendance.

    Legal Research:

    • Conduct legal research using online databases and other resources to support case preparation and strategy development.

    Court Filings:

    • Prepare and file legal documents with state and federal courts, ensuring compliance with all applicable rules and deadlines.

    Trial Support:

    • Assist lawyers during trial preparation and proceedings, including organizing exhibits, coordinating witnesses, and providing administrative support in the courtroom.

    Administrative Tasks:

    • Perform various administrative tasks as required.

    Job Specification

    • Leadership and Management: Demonstrated leadership capabilities with the ability to manage and motivate a diverse team. Strong managerial skills in overseeing staff, projects, and operations.
    • Financial Acumen: Ability to manage budgets, financial analysis, and reporting.
    • Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with staff, partners, and clients. Being capable of presenting information clearly and concisely.
    • Organizational Skills: Exceptional organizational abilities with a keen eye for detail. Being capable of managing multiple tasks, setting priorities, and meeting deadlines.
    • Problem-solving and Decision-making: Proven ability to make sound decisions and resolve complex problems effectively.
    • Adaptability and Flexibility: Ability to adapt to changing situations and willingness to take on new challenges.
    • Integrity and Ethics: Being able to demonstrate high ethical standards and maintain confidentiality in sensitive matters.
    • Initiative and Proactiveness: Self-starter with the ability to take initiative and drive projects forward without constant supervision.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
    • Minimum of 2 years of cognate experience
    • Previous experience in a legal support role.
    • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple deadlines effectively.
    • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal research databases.
    • Attention to detail and accuracy in all work.
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
