Job Summary

• The Lifeguard helps maintain a safe and welcoming pool or aquatic facility.
• The role involves actively monitoring swimmers, preventing accidents, enforcing pool rules, responding to emergencies, and maintaining the cleanliness and readiness of the pool area.

Here's what you'll do during a typical day

• Greet and assist guests: Bring an upbeat and friendly attitude to all guest interactions, respond promptly to requests, and resolve any issues in a friendly, efficient manner
• Ensure swimmer safety: Monitor pool activity to prevent accidents, enforce pool rules, and promote safe swimming practices
• Respond to emergencies: Act quickly and effectively in line with the emergency action plan, providing rescue or first aid when necessary
• Maintain a clean and safe environment: Conduct regular inspections and perform routine cleaning and maintenance of the pool area
• Uphold regulatory standards: Maintain compliance with health, safety, and sanitation, ensuring the highest standards of guest and team member wellbeing

What It Takes to Make the Stay

• Current certification in CPR and first aid, including AED use where required.
• Demonstrated swimming ability and competence in water-rescue techniques.
• Previous lifeguard or aquatic-facility experience is an advantage.
• Knowledge of pool safety rules, emergency response procedures, and basic water hazards.
• Ability to communicate clearly, remain calm under pressure, and follow instructions.
• Must meet the organisation’s age and fitness requirements and any applicable local regulations.
