Legal Officer at IT Horizons Limited

Responsibilities

• The Legal Officer will be responsible for providing legal advice and support to the organization on a wide range of legal matters, including contracts, compliance, intellectual property, and regulatory issues.
• Collaborate closely with the Business Assurance team to ensure company-wide compliance with internal policies, statutory obligations, and regulatory frameworks
• Liaise with external counsel/auditors and regulatory authorities as may be required from time to time.
• Maintain an organized, secure digital/legal archive of all company legal documents.
• Provide legal guidance to internal stakeholders on risks, compliance, and processes.
• Represent and/or defend the interest of ITH Holdings Limited and any of its subsidiaries before establishments, including the courts, the Nigeria Police Force and other regulatory authorities.
• Liaise with the Company Secretary/Legal Adviser and obtain clarification and/or approval on legal issues/documentations.
• Secretarial & Administrative Functions
• Prepare and distribute internal memos, board resolutions, and meeting notices.
• Organize and record minutes of meetings and ensure timely action tracking.
• Secretary/Legal Adviser may be required from time to time.
• Draft, review, and manage legal documents including letters, contracts, MoUs, NDAs, and policies documents.
• Executive Support
• Provide confidential executive assistance to the CEO and/or Company Secretary/Legal Adviser as may be required from time to time.
• Serve as liaison officer between the CEO's office and internal departments for legal/administrative matters.
• Carry out all duties and support that may be required or delegated by the CEO and/or Company Secretary/Legal Adviser from time to time

• % of legal documents reviewed and closed on time
• Timeliness of executive meeting minutes and action item implementation
• Accuracy and organization of legal documents, as well as legal records and filings
• Stakeholders’ satisfaction with responsiveness and clarity
• CEO Administrative & Executive support deliverables met without escalation

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Law, Juris Doctor (JD), or equivalent legal qualification.
• Admission to the bar in the relevant jurisdiction; license to practice law required.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience practicing law, preferably in a corporate or commercial setting.
• Relevant management qualification or training.
• Strong knowledge of contract law, corporate law, and regulatory compliance
