The Lead, Credit Administration will be responsible for leading the credit administration function, ensuring that all approved credit facilities are properly documented, accurately booked, fully compliant, and effectively controlled throughout their lifecycle.
This role is critical in safeguarding the institution against operational, documentation, and legal risks, while ensuring alignment with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Oversee end-to-end credit administration processes, including documentation, collateral perfection, disbursement, and loan booking
Ensure all approved facilities are implemented strictly in line with approval terms and conditions
Enforce compliance with conditions precedent and conditions subsequent prior to and after disbursement
Manage collateral documentation, perfection, custody, and renewals, ensuring enforceability at all times
Ensure accurate loan booking, limit creation, and data capture in the core banking system
Maintain complete, audit-ready credit files and documentation standards across all facilities
Monitor and track documentation exceptions, expired securities, and covenant breaches, ensuring timely resolution
Provide independent review to ensure compliance with credit policy, regulatory requirements, and approval conditions
Ensure proper execution of loan restructuring, renewals, amendments, and rescheduling documentation
Drive regulatory and management reporting relating to credit administration, documentation, and collateral
Identify and mitigate operational and documentation risks within the credit lifecycle
Collaborate with Underwriting, Legal, Operations, Finance, and Business teams to ensure seamless credit execution
Support internal and external audits, ensuring closure of all credit administration-related findings
Lead process improvement and automation initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce manual errors
Develop and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) for credit administration
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field
Minimum of 5 -7 years’ experience in credit administration, credit operations, or credit risk within financial services.
Strong understanding of loan documentation, collateral management, regulatory compliance, and credit processes
Relevant certifications (e.g., ACIB, ACCA, CFA, FRM) are an added advantage
