Lead Accountant at Terawork

About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented Lead Accountant to manage financial reporting, compliance, and accounting operations within our oil and gas business. The ideal candidate will have strong technical accounting skills and experience in the energy sector.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger activities.
• Ensure compliance with local tax laws, statutory reporting, and company policies.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
• Reconcile accounts and resolve accounting discrepancies.
• Collaborate with auditors and provide necessary financial documentation.
• Support management with financial analysis and business decision-making.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of accounting experience, preferably in oil and gas.
• Strong knowledge of Nigerian tax laws and financial regulations.
• Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, SAP, or similar).
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to work under tight deadlines and in a fast-paced environment.
