Land Development Manager at Sagad Farms Limited

 SUMMARY OF POSITION:

The Land Development Manager shall be responsible for setting up field layout, review the Agriculture Infrastructure works (Land consolidation, Irrigation canal improvement, Irrigation system maintenance, Drainage, etc.). S/he shall also ensure that land levelling is done according to set standards, enforcing maintenance of top fertile soils in all designs.

DETAILED LISTING OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Set up field layout, irrigation and drainage planning and implementation
• Fields designing and levelling.
• Ensuring that land levelling is done according to set standards, enforcing maintenance of top fertile soils in all designs.
• Irrigation channels designing.
• Designing all the schemes irrigation canals according to water requirements as per channel primary purposes.
• Ensuring that the scheme has adequate and sound drainage systems by designing appropriate channels and possible pumping out provisions
• Schemes Flood protection System.
• Designing appropriate protection bund for the schemes to withstand known flood levels.
• River water harvesting.
• Use of flood system on all possible water sources in order to save on pumping cost element of the scheme.
• Scheme accessibility: ensuring that there is a sound and economic road network on the scheme that carters for both normal and agricultural traffic.
• Managing all irrigation and drainage requirements for paddy grounds

Requirements for the position:

• Bachelor's degree/HND in Agricultural Engineering or Civil Engineering or other related relevant courses.
• At least 5 years’ experience in rice farm development and or running of rice farm, building small check dams, irrigation projects etc.
• Must have the experience of Irrigation or Land Development in Agriculture farms building, agricultural, engineering, land development.
